Pitfalls in Witnessing
- Avoid Arguments
- Do not be distracted. Distractions are usually in the form of our
individual pleasures. A typical example of this is the fact that we can
spend hours watching football, hunting, fishing and the like but will reject
any effort (no matter how small) to participate in a Bible Study.
- Avoid ruts. Failing to realize that there are many members in the
Body and making comparisons of one with another can place us in a rut.
Christ is the only Standard by which we should measure. We must realize
that it is His Power in us that makes us effective.
- Numbers: Avoid comparing quantities. This is prideful, see 1
Chronicles 20 - 21 for King David's prideful use of numbers. Witnessing
to one is as fruitful as witnessing to the masses.
