Witnessing: The role of The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit plays the primary role in witnessing.

As God, The Holy Spirit is The Sovereign Executive of Witnessing.  Read John 15:26-27; 1 John 4:1-6; 1 John 5:1-13.

Since we are born spiritually dead, we must have an agent for comprehension.  The spiritually dead person can make a decision to hear the Gospel and believe in Christ, but a dead person's choice is as dead as he is.  God The Holy Spirit makes this decision effective by providing understanding, making faith in Christ effective for salvation.  The Holy Spirit acts as a human spirit so that the hearer can comprehend the Gospel.
