Is Christ Being Formed In you
Text: Galatians 4:19, 4
Transition: I intend to show you that the choice is yours
Definition: Being Formed means being perfected but not perfect, always getting better and not staying in a rut
Introduction: There is an old story about 10 business men at the airport running to catch a flight home because they had promised their family they would be home before dinner. While running through the airport they knocked over an apple cart belonging to a young blind girl. Nine of them kept running because they were late boarding the plane, the one yelled at the nine to call his wife and tell her that he would be on the next flight. He went back, picked up the apples placing them in the cart and replacing the for sale sign, he gave her a $20 bill for the damaged apples and as the man was walking away, the young blind girl asked him if he was Jesus. Rom. 8:1-3, the law could not work because of the sinfulness and selfishness of our flesh. Jesus had to come down in the likeness of that flesh, reject sin and agree to die for me and for you because we were condemned to Hell by our own will.

Point A: Gen 13:9-11, Abraham and Lot, Lot was told to separate himself with his choice and he chose the well watered land, not caring about disrespecting his old uncle and not concerned about placing himself at the will of Sodom. We know the story, Lot became corrupted and when God came down to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham interceded for Lot. Was Abe thinking I should have had that land, let Lot burn, no? You have to wonder if Lot had chosen a different way, would Abe have chosen that land and if he had, would he have been influenced by Sodom. NO he would not have, remember he would not take money from them after he restored their property. Re: Matthew 27: vs. 1- all the chief priests and elders, vs. 3-Judas, vs. 13-Pilate, vs. 24-Pilate’s choice, vs.25-the people’s choice, vs. 27-41-the soldier’s values, vs. 38 the two thieves values and one repented after he heard Jesus speak
Point B: And with all of this we see a Heavenly choice made from a Heavenly value that was not altered because of our rebellion. John 3:16- For God so loved that He gave His Only Son. Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a Child is born, a Son is given. Gen 3:15- I will put enmity between. Hebrews 12:2-For the Joy, yes you are Christmas joy, that is the reason that you came; and now look at John 20:3-7- the napkin was still there.
Conclusion: There always have been scoffers, there always will be. Satan was the first scoffer in the Garden when he said “Yea, hath God said. The most difficult to me when I was growing up and even still today is Noah. He worked on an ark for a 100 years, there was no body of water nearby, it had never rained on the earth, people laughed at him and yet he continued for all those years following God’s specific building plans. How many of us would do that, well I got good news, you don’t have to. Jesus has done all of the waiting and all of the building, we just have to be part of the building materials and that happens by saying yes because when you say yes you began to be a new creature with no condemnation. As a new creature with Christ being formed in you will begin to learn that the true measure is not how much you know but whether your life reflects Christ. Will a blind girl mistake you for Jesus. Are the pleasures of the world before the things of God? Does your lifestyle bring honor. If Christ is not born in you, do you know that you will be eternally lost to hell. Just think if you can not wait for things now, how long you will have to suffer in hell and not be allowed to die
