My Personal Statement
I hold a Masters in Theology from Charis Theological Seminary and Bible Institute, Houston, Texas and stand absolutely on the fact that Jesus Christ is the Second Person of The Holy Trinity. I am the Pastor of Adult Christian Education at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. I have studied the Word of God for many years and have determined that the vastness and the richness of God's Word remains beyond our abilities to totally comprehend God; however, He has given us what we need to have faith in His return. He has given us enough to believe that He will return for us. My name is Gilpen Gray and please feel free to email me with your comments or concerns.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:19, 20 that we are to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Ghost. Verse 20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
This
commandment is to all believers in Christ, in order to accomplish this we must
all grow in His Grace according to knowledge of His Word.
Special Note: It is virtually impossible to present all of the Gospel in the space allowed so the intent here is to present evidence of the truth of the Gospel. I believe that Jesus Christ, God The Son, left Heaven to manifest Himself in the flesh so that creation (His creation) could be reconciled back to Himself.
By man’s volition,
our federal head, Adam, chose to disobey and sin entered into the
"material" creation. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is
death. Therefore, since all humanity inherited sin from Adam, we are not
qualified to die for anyone other than ourselves. The law of Redemption requires
that a "kinsman" must pay the price of freedom and be willing to pay
the full price, so Christ lived a life free from sin in order to qualify as our
redeemer. His death and His death alone is what has freed us from our sin and
reconciled us back to God. In John 19:30. Christ used the phrase "It
is finished" this statement when read according to the
original manuscript means that the works that Christ left Heaven to accomplish
were finished and He was laying down His life and would be resurrected as proof
of acceptance in Heaven. The works that He accomplished would be sufficient and
could not be added to by any work of man and would last to eternity.
The animal sacrifices
of The Old Testament were a temporary teaching for the supreme sacrifice of
Christ.
In John 6:28, 29, Jesus
tells us that the only work that man can do is to do the work of God, "that
ye believe on Him Whom He hath sent.
On crucifixion day, Pontius Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?’ As believers, we must remember that we are commanded to teach, to plant the seed; we can not and should not attempt to force Truth, it is God’s responsibility to give the increase.
Regarding Truth, there are a few things that we must understand:
Truth existed before It
was written
Truth exists whether It
is understood or not
Arrogance and Grace can
not co-exist
